What’s the Damage?
Lawyers‘ fees are regulated by law and depend on the area of law and the circumstances of the case. With a low income, you might be eligible for legal aid.
FIRST CONSULTATION
The first consultation itself will usually cost between 95 and 120 Euro (already including taxes). Under certain circumstances, individuals with a low income can apply at the local district court (Amtsgericht) for legal consultation aid (Beratungshilfe) to help cover the first consultation. This requires submitting the application form that is listed below to the district court. If you are granted consultation aid and bring the approval, you will be only charged a maximum of 15 Euro for your first consultation.
